A Guide for New Students

What do I do if I get only an abstract?

If you can't find an item in CTX Library's online collection, your options are:

  1. Obtain the material yourself using your TexShare card.  TexShare is a free passport for enrolled CTX students/employees that allows you to apply for borrowing privileges (physical items only) at participating Texas libraries (call ahead).
  2. CTX-affiliated users can request books, articles, or chapters from other libraries.  Request the item through our interlibrary loan service (ILL) by emailing your citation (and your permalink or DOI, if possible) to library@concordia.edu.

    1. Requests for books, audiobooks, or DVDs have a turnaround time of 14 - 28 business days.

    2. Requests for articles or book chapters have a turnaround time of 2 - 10 business days.
