CTX Library in the Time of COVID--the reopening

These procedures are subject to change as needed if conditions change.

Computers and printers

Computers will have shields around them and keyboard covers.  There will be readily available “cleaning stations” with supplies if patrons want to clean the areas around them before each use.  We’ve bought two hands-free electric staplers for student use.  All computers are in “public” areas but we do have headphones – just ask at the desk.

Books / DVDs / CDs

We are asking that all returns are made via the in-house or outside book drops; for now we will continue to allow browsing and selection from open stacks, but returned items (and anything removed from the stacks) will be quarantined for 5 days before re-shelving.  Given national guidelines for quarantining items, there will be no Reserves set up this fall.

We will be putting away the print journals and pushing patrons to access these resources online.  In light of this, we’ve expanded and are promoting our Flipster (an online magazine collection).  See the bottom of main library page for the carousel and links to our full text, full color, online holdings.  For more scholarly journals, please check out Publications Finder.  Here you can also search within a title, find how long the embargo is until an issue is available after publication, or what the range of access years are.
