Review

This is a memoir discussing what it's like being Black in majority-white institutions such as schools, professional workplaces, and Christian spaces. She also provides tools to identify and correct microaggressions and blatant racism.

As a person of color, it helped me put language to what I experience. It has better equipped me talk about race issues with people of different ethnicities.

This book should be required reading for any person in leadership to better understand the POC experience, specifically in the workplace and church. Since it's a memoir, this would also be a great book to read as a group, or build off panel discussions with POC @ CTX.
